Dave Mitchell, M.Ed, SPHR/SHRM-SCP
For 22 years Dave served in the U. S. Air Force. As an acknowledged leader, Dave was ranked among the top 3% of the enlisted force upon his retirement from the military. While serving, Dave led teams ranging from 5 to 75 in a multitude of international situations. During one assignment, Dave was hand-picked to lead the unit’s Total Quality Management (TQM) initiatives. It was during this assignment that he began to develop his skills as a trainer and organizational development practitioner. He was certified as an Air Force Quality Instructor, the Air Force equivalent to a Six Sigma Black Belt.

Dave served as an expert in leadership development, strategic planning, process consultation, and data-driven organizational change. He further served as a member of the highly selective Air Force Space Support Team, consulting with battlefield commanders of the USAF space-based technologies and capabilities.

After retiring from the Air Force, Dave continued to focus on training and organizational development where he offered his expertise for a national cellular phone provider strategically coordinating and implementing the construction of over 100 cell sites nationwide. He also led production for a Top 3 US auto maker, reducing rework on his line by 65%. Shortly after, Dave then served in a lead role and consultant for a worldwide provider of technology delivered behavior analysis that reached 35 countries and 198,000 customers. In 2006 he became certified as an expert in behavior and personality analysis allowing him to offer additional expertise on how to properly align key personnel for maximum business impact. Dave is certified in the use of the Myers-Briggs Type indicator (MBTI) and DISC personality assessments, as well as other psychometrics. For over 20 years, Dave has been recognized as an expert using psychometric instruments in a variety of organizational development applications, including group processes, personal development and talent management in properly aligning personnel critical to corporate objectives. Dave has worked with companies such as: Manpower, Coca-Cola, Keller Williams, the C-12 Group, and the US Office of Personnel Management.

Dave also leads Wingman Consulting, LLC, which offers a partnership style of consulting on operations management, training, team building, process improvement interventions, and a full range of organizational development and change management. Dave formerly served as the Director of Operations for Technology Accelerator Alliance, a local startup incubator/accelerator in Alliance, Ohio, as well as a consultant for Ingelix, Inc. Dave holds two Associate degrees and a BS in Organizational Leadership and Development in addition to a Masters of Education in Adult Education & Training with a focus on Organizational Development and Performance Management from Colorado Christian University. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) alongside being a certified facilitator for the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and First Things First Management through the Covey Leadership Center.

Dave also has taught Business Management at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center in addition to Adult Basic Education for Gateway Community College. Dave has previously served in several volunteer leadership positions in local organizations and currently serves as an official for the Youngstown, Ohio Youth Swim League. Dave and his wife of 30 years have 3 grown sons and reside in Boardman, Ohio.
